League format : Norway : Premier Division 2026
Eliteserien is the top Norwegian football league. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Norwegian First Division. Seasons run from March to November with each team playing 30 matches.
The top two teams will play in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League. The two lowest-ranked teams are relegated to the second tier, while the top two teams from the First Division are promoted in their place. The third lowest team in Eliteserien will be sent to a relegation play-off.
