12.7.26 Milwaukee Brewers: Injuries

Milwaukee Brewers rookie right-hander Jacob Misiorowski has been scratched from Sunday's start against the Pittsburgh Pirates due to arm fatigue and will also miss Tuesday's All-Star Game. Manager Pat Murphy said Misiorowski did not recover well from his last outing, but the 24-year-old expects to return after the All-Star break and does not anticipate going on the injured list.

Ohtani scratched from start due to knee irritation

11.7.26 Los Angeles Dodgers: Injuries

Shohei Ohtani was scratched from his scheduled start because of ongoing irritation in his left knee and will undergo a drainage procedure, with a possible pain-relieving injection, during the All-Star break. He will continue serving as the Dodgers' designated hitter but will skip the All-Star Game, with the team expecting him to return to pitching after the break as they prioritize his health for the postseason.

Vientos fractures hand, headed to injured list

10.7.26 NY Mets: Injuries

New York Mets infielder Mark Vientos will be placed on the injured list after fracturing his right hand when he was hit by a pitch during Thursday's 7-3 win over the Kansas City Royals. The 26-year-old is still being evaluated to determine whether surgery is needed. Vientos, who is batting .211 with 11 home runs and 35 RBIs this season, has struggled for playing time and this marks his third MLB injured list stint.

Dillon Dingler exits after hand injury

9.7.26 Detroit Tigers: Injuries

Tigers All-Star catcher Dillon Dingler left Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Athletics after taking a foul tip off his right throwing hand. Initial X-rays were negative, but he will undergo additional testing Thursday. Jake Rogers replaced him and hit a home run. Athletics All-Star first baseman Nick Kurtz also exited the game in the second inning because of illness.

Ohtani's start pushed to Friday for extra rest

1.7.26 Los Angeles Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers have postponed Shohei Ohtani's scheduled Wednesday pitching start against the Athletics to give him additional rest during a stretch of 13 consecutive games. Manager Dave Roberts said Ohtani, who is 8-2 with a 1.58 ERA this season, will instead pitch Friday against the Padres while serving as the designated hitter on Wednesday. The Dodgers will use a bullpen game in his place.

Ohtani misses Dodgers game for paternity reasons

20.6.26 Los Angeles Dodgers

Shohei Ohtani was absent from the Los Angeles Dodgers' lineup on Friday because he was away from the team on paternity leave-related matters. Manager Dave Roberts said Ohtani is expected to return this weekend, possibly as soon as Saturday. The Dodgers did not place him on MLB's paternity list.

Braves acquire Joey Bart from Pirates

19.6.26 Atlanta Braves: Transfers

The Atlanta Braves acquired catcher Joey Bart from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for right-handed pitcher Hunter Stratton. Bart, an Atlanta-area native and former Georgia Tech standout, was hitting .259 with two home runs in 21 games this season. The Braves added him to bolster their catching depth while Sean Murphy remains sidelined with a broken finger. To make room on the roster, Atlanta designated catcher Sandy Leon for assignment, while the Pirates sent Stratton to Triple-A Indianapolis.

League format : MLB 2026

During the regular season, games are played mainly against teams within each league through an unbalanced schedule, which heavily favors divisional play. Twelve teams will qualify for the postseason, with the division winners seeded 1 through 3, and three wild cards seeded 4 through 6 in their respective leagues. The top two seeds in each league will receive a bye into the Division Series. The other four teams in each league will play best-of-three series, with the higher seed hosting all three games.

The No. 1 seed plays the winner of the 4-5 series, and the No. 2 seed plays the winner of 3-6 in a best-of-five playoff round to determine the final two teams from each league, who then play in the League Championship Series. The champions of each league meet in the World Series to declare an overall Major League Baseball winner. The World Series and League Championship Series are best-of-seven playoff rounds.
