Each team will play 54 games within their conference, and two games (home and road) against each non-conference club. Two points are awarded for a win, one point for a loss in overtime or shootout, and no points for a loss in regulation time. At the end of the regular season, sixteen teams will qualify for the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs: the top three teams in each division, along with two wild-cards in each conference. All rounds of the NHL Playoffs will be best-of-7 games.
